THE BONDED CITY

Following the record breaking immersive Great Gatsby last year, Secret theatre are back at The Peninsula with an already critically acclaimed experience.The highly anticipated recreation of Studio 54 is now open and creating waves in town! Written and directed by Richard Crawford, “Nights at Studio 54” makes its global premiere for the first time in Asia. The immersive production will give the audience a taste of the legendary Studio 54, where the world’s most famous stars rubbed shoulders with politicians, drag queens, uptown girls and downtown boys at a nightclub that defined an era. The secrets and stories of Elton John,Yoko Ono, Bianca Jagger, Freddie Mercury, Andy Warhol, Diana Ross, Blondie and infamous club owner Steve Rubell will set the stage alight as the immersive theatrical drama is complemented by Studio 54’s famous era defining soundtrack. Guests can also enjoy a divine dinner and sip fabulous cocktails while immersing in the atmosphere under the disco lights.

The production is a world stage premier from Secret Theatre Artistic Director Richard Crawford. The show opens October 5th and runs until December 10th. Nights at Studio 54 is a global premier for Hong Kong written and directed by Richard Crawford. The immersive production will give the audience a taste of the world of Studio 54 where the worlds most famous individuals rubbed shoulders with politicians, drag queens, uptown girls and downtown boys all to the sound of disco that defined an era. The secrets and stories of Elton John, Yoko Ono, Bianca Jagger, Freddie Mercury, Andy Warhol, Diana Ross, Blondie and infamous club owner Steve Rubell will set the tone of the night all complimented by Studio 54’s famous resident DJ Nicky Siano.

In Autumn 2021 Secret Theatre collaborated with the old dame of Hong Kong, the prestigious Peninsula Hotel, to create an Immersive Theatrical dining experience fusing music, immersive theatre and fine dining in the form of an adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

After a record breaking sold out run in Hong Kong for their previous show, International award winning immersive creators Secret Theatre are back in town and are collaborating with one of Hong Kong’s most decorated chefs, Juan Gomez for a theatrical dining experience at one of the cities most opulent and special venues, The Peninsula hotel. This really will be an event not to be missed.

For the production The Peninsula Hong Kong’s famous and fabled Felix restaurant atop the hotel will be transformed for the first time into a speakeasy-style theatrical setting for a season of sky-high soirees which will transport guests back to the golden 1920s era and the glamorous world of ‘The Great Gatsby’. Through nightly interactive dinner performances, diners can become part of the glittering life of Jay Gatsby and his elegant circle of friends by literally becoming guests at one of his infamous and hedonistic dinner parties.

Redemption Room is a new live online experience where audiences from anywhere in the world get to judge six disgraced celebrities as they seek redemption for their societal crimes. The production format takes a thrilling twist after an evil entity is awakened into the proceedings. Who will survive? Who will get their redemption? You will decide.

The experience will go live across the world in a Zoom studio featuring contestants from 6 major cities; Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Mumbai, Sydney and New York. The production will be going live from all those cities where our celebrities are located and can be streamed from anywhere in the world.

As the studio audience in the online experience you will vote on how far we push the contestants fears. But be warned, every-night audiences will be judging the proceedings and one audience member will even be asked to compete with the celebrities. So as an audience attendee you can vote, you can judge, you can contact the celebrities directly and have an outcome on the experience.

For the experience we suggest you turn off the lights, light a candle and be prepared for the unexpected. Should you have paranormal fears please prepare accordingly. If Ouija boards are your taste, there will be a moment when you can get involved. Please be warned by wearing black you can summon demons….
